Dreams
So, a couple nights ago I had a dream that I was at some convention thing, and Neil Patrick Harris was there. And there were a couple people from DTC that was there. Someone told me that one of the guys liked me, but he was only 15. I don't remember much else. But I liked that NPH was there. Too bad he rides the other bus.

2 is better than 1...I think
I'm trying to manage 2 blogs now. This one, and the one with my roommate. Again, I thought it would be hard for me to just do 1 blog. I'm not really a writer, I hate doing papers for school. But I like doing blogs. Especially when I'm doing a blog with my best friend. Now, I'm just hoping that I can continue with both of these blogs without going blog-overload.
So far I'm managing both okay. Trying not to do the same post on each blog. I might have similar ideas, but the posts themselves are not the same.
Chicken, cheese, Chinese
I'm going off now.

Project Nerdiness/Titanic = Fail
I regret to inform you that I have failed on my Titanic mission. I got too distracted by school and work and other stuff. I didn't keep an update on it. Nor did I rewatch the movie.
I guess I was just not passionate enough about it to continue. Oh well. Hopefully my next project will be better.

Dear Dad
Hey, Dad. I just wanted to wish you a Happy Father's Day. Thanks for everything you have done for me. I know there were times when you couldn't do much. I know that things have been hard on you lately. I wish I was able to do something for you. You have given me a lot of support over the years. I don't say it enough, but I love you dad. I hope things get better for you. I know that God is watching out for you right now, so keep praying to him and He will provide what you need.
Love always,
Amy

To all of my lovely followers
Thought you guys should know that my roommate and I have started a collaboration blog. Kinda like the VlogBrothers, only not as awesome but only they can be that much awesome. This is the first summer in awhile that we have been apart, and because we both work, and I have classs, we don't get to talk to each other very much. So this is our way of communicating. Feel free to check it out.

DTC opening weekend
Last night was our opening night for DTC. We performed "This is Country Music" and tonight we did "Grand Ole Opry Celebration". In case I haven't told you yet, both DTC and RCP performs 2 different shows. RCP's shows are "Classic" and "Retro". Classic does songs from 50s and 60s, whereas Retro does 70s and 80s. As for our shows, Grand Ole Opry Celebration talks about the history of the Grand Ole Opry. This is Country Music just does country music. Really, there is not much difference in our shows. Anyways, the tech has been experiencing some technical problems. Mainly, about our headsets. Sometimes we can hear each other loud and clear. Tonight, however, it ended up that Danielle (lightboard operator) could hear both Siota (other spotlighter) and myself, but Siota and I could not hear each other. Hopefully we can figure out the problem tomorrow when we go back.
Let me just say that DTC really is not completely bad. There are some good moments. I really like our keyboard guy. So far, he is the only one who has taken the time to talk to me. We haven't had too many conversations, he has just been nice. Before each of the shows, he comes up to the light booth and does a meditation circle with us. I found out that he used to be the band director for my high school several years ago, and had my cousin and his future wife in the band. Small world. He is also a really good player and singer.
Now, one of the male performers talks to me a little bit, but he already knew me. He was the main character in the children's play last fall. He will say hi to me every once in awhile. Sometimes the others do, but they haven't actually tried to start a conversation with me.
Oh, there was a girl who came to the show tonight. I was waiting for most of the audience to leave before I made my out. She recognized my picture in the program, and had me sign it. I thought that was cool.
We have 2 more shows to do tomorrow, and then opening weekend is done.

Due on Tues, 14 June
Reaction paper #1 over chapter 5 of The Happiness Hypothesis
Strengths Test Assessment
Due on Wed, 15 June
Thyestes essay
Due on Thurs, 16 June
Psych take-home test #1
In all honesty, this is not very much that I have to do for this coming week. But considering the fact that I will be working crazy hours for DTC, I have to find time to mangage all this. I'm still reading chapter 5 of The Happiness Hypothesis, and I just printed off the questions for the Psych test. I plan on gettting up a little bit earlier tomorrow morning in order to get some of this stuff done. The thing is, I could be called in to work sometime in the morning. It's all TBA. I'm hoping that I won't be called in. I will have to work after my class tomorrow afternoon. I could be there for awhile. Depending on how long I have to stay will determine if I'm going to feel like doing some hw when I get back to the suite.
But I am not going to let this stress me out. I will get everything done. I'm going to finish reading the chapter for psych, and write down some notes about it. Maybe. Or I could start working on the test, or finish the essay over Thyestes. Or maybe I won't do any hw stuff, and will instead catch up on some fun reading.
I don't have to be at work until 245 today. So, taking some time for myself would be nice. Although, I have been doing that all day. Except for reading Act 1 of Titus Andronicus for my lit class. I must say, I think the cooking show version of this play was a lot more enjoyable.
Currently listening to some non-country music. I listened to Katy Perry yesterday, and I just finished listening to Adam Lambert. Now, I have Green Day going. I wish I had more Wrock on my MP3. But I am glad that I put those other 3 on my player. I like Christian music, but I'm a little tired of it right now. Plus I heard all of those other songs a bunch of times already. I needed some fresh music.
...
Oh yeah. I still need to find time for laundry. But, like I said, I'm not going to let this stress me out. I will get it done.

Downtown Country
So, I have a job doing spotlight at a country music show thing that my school puts on every year. Today was my first day. First, I would like to say that country is not my favorite kind of music. I was raised on country music, but I have grown out of that. My favorite music right now is Wrock, but I also like Christian rock (Jeremy Camp, Skillet, David Crowder Band), and usually whatever my awesome roommate happens to be listening too (she likes to listen to people singing covers of other people's songs. the covers are usually better than the original versions). I also started listening to bands like Kansas, Journey, anything that could be heard in the background of an episode of Supernatural. I also like Hank Green.
Second, I would like to explain a little about the music shows. There are 2 music shows. Downtown Country is all country music. Carrie Underwood, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Dirks Bentley, some others (i'm kinda sad that Josh Turner music was not included in the show). Students from NSU sing songs and do comedy acts. The other music show is River City Players. RCP is a more professional than DTC. They do songs by Elvis and Beatles and 50s and 60s, oldies like that. It is for people who are interested in being on Broadway or something. I have never been to either of the shows. This is my first year.
Third, I would like to explain why DTC is not that professional. It is not very organized. Here is an example. So, when I first got accepted for the job, I was told by the guy in charge of lights for both shows, I would be starting on June 10. Then, I got a text message on Sunday or Monday that we were supposed to start on Tuesday, but since the girl working the lightboard would not be able to go in until Wednesday (yesterday), so we could go in that day, or if we couldnt make it that day, let him know when we could. I said I could go in Wednesday. So, Tuesday I texted the girl doing lightboard what time I would have to go in. She called back and said that when she got the schedule from the lady who runs DTC, tech was going to start today, but she may call us on Wednesday to come in. I kept checking the whole day yesterday to see if I would have to work. I didn't. *sigh*
More on the craziness of not being organized. They never start on time. Which, starting a couple minutes late is not that bad. It's when we start half and hour to an hour late that I get annoyed.
Fourth, my feet were hurting.
Rehearsal wasn't that bad. I didn't have to listen to the same song over and over and over. I just got tired easily.
*sigh*

Oy with the poodles already!
1) Today I started positive pysch. I found out that the textbook I bought for that class was the wrong edition. After being let out of class early, I started to walk to the bookstore to return the book. Then, I realized that they will probably want to see the receipt. So, I walked back to my room. I looked in the drawer in my desk to see if the receipt was there. Well, I found the receipt for the literature books I bought. So, I started to dig through my other stuff trying to find the right receipt. I spent several minutes looking for it. Then I realized. I had already found the receipt. I bought the literature books and the psych books at the same time. When I looked back at the receipt, sure enough, right at the bottom, was my psych book. *headdesk*
2) After lunch, I went back to the room for a little bit to wait until it was time for my literature class. I started reading some of my psych book. Then, I noticed that I had 10 minutes to get to class, so I went ahead and left. When I got to the classroom, only one other girl was there. I sat at the desk for a little bit, pulled out my notebook and book, made some small talk to the other person. Well, the girl, or rather woman since she was older, went out in the hall for a phone call. I look at over at the clock. Wait. Is it only 1230? My class doesn't start until 130. I was an hour early. *headdesk*
I should probably invest in some more sleep. A nap after class sounds wonderful.

Sad, but good
So, I was supposed to start my job as spotlight person on Friday. Well, I got a text from the guy who got me the job saying that tech week is actually going to start tomorrow, but that the girl who is doing light board can't be there until Wednesday. He asked if I would be able to start on Wednesday, or if not, what day I could. I told him I could start on Wednesday. Then I realized, there is a Harry and the Potters concert in Tulsa on Wednesday night. I was going to go. When I was out walking a little bit ago, I thought about just waiting til Thursday to start, but I figured that the earlier I start work, the more money I could make. So, I'm going to go ahead and start on Wednesday.
Day 1 of Summer School
7 am: wake up
815 ish: breakfast (hot chocolate and poptarts)
After breakfast I walked over to the UC. First I checked to see if I could rent one of the bikes they have, but they said they wouldnt be doing the bike rentals until fall. Then I checked to see how much it cost for the Seneca book I needed for my horror lit class, which was about $12, so I decided not to buy it. Then I went over to the library, printed off the syllabus for the class, and checked to see if the library had a copy of the book I needed. I didn't find that exact one, however I did find a couple books that had the complete Roman plays in it. So I checked that out.
915 ish (?): shower
11: lunch with Lucy at the cafe. Joined up with David, one of my old RAs. Mommy Terry (faculty sponsor for my dance group) came by to talk for a little bit.
1145: library again. Messed around online, watched an episode of Merlin, caught up on some vlogs, and some blogs.
120: headed off to class.
130: class. I think the class will be a lot more interesting when we actually get around to discussing the books we will be reading. Today we just went over the syllabus (3 papers, several quizzes, a final exam that I think will be comprehensive), and talked about what horror was, and why we enjoy horror stories. Will update more as we get farther into the class.
After class, went back to the suite, did laundry and dishes, watched another episode of Merlin, and listened to music. Around 5, Lucy and Heather got back to the suites. For some reason, we kinda gathered in my room for a little bit. Heather went and got Lucy and I a couple of ice cream sandwiches.
Atm, Lucy is having dinner with her boyfriend who just came into town (Asian Star and Cherry Berry, so jealous!), and Heather decided to take a shower.
So, not too exciting of a day.

Classes, Titanic, and cheese.
Monday I finally start summer classes. I will be taking a horror lit class monday-thursday, and positive psychology tuesdays and thursdays. Both classes will last until July 28 (I think). I'm excited about it because it will finally give me something to do. Plus, on Friday (obviously not this friday, which is today) I start my job with Down Town Country. I get to do spotlight. So, that will be something else to look forwarrd to. I haven't been able to work in a couple weeks, so I have just been reading and stealing one of my suitemate's computer and TV, or go to the library, which is just right across from where I currently live. I'm thinking about maybe walking over to the public library. I have never been there before, plus they might have a better selection of books for me to read.
Still doing research on the Titanic. I found out that the ship was owned by America. It had a swimmng pool (one of the first, if not the first, installed on a ship), and the second class had a library (which may have only been just like a lounge, but my nerdiness got excited when I read 'library'). I found out a lot of other stuff, but that's just some facts I can give off the top of my head.
I like cheese. Especially string cheese.
