So, I have a job doing spotlight at a country music show thing that my school puts on every year. Today was my first day. First, I would like to say that country is not my favorite kind of music. I was raised on country music, but I have grown out of that. My favorite music right now is Wrock, but I also like Christian rock (Jeremy Camp, Skillet, David Crowder Band), and usually whatever my awesome roommate happens to be listening too (she likes to listen to people singing covers of other people's songs. the covers are usually better than the original versions). I also started listening to bands like Kansas, Journey, anything that could be heard in the background of an episode of Supernatural. I also like Hank Green.
Second, I would like to explain a little about the music shows. There are 2 music shows. Downtown Country is all country music. Carrie Underwood, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Dirks Bentley, some others (i'm kinda sad that Josh Turner music was not included in the show). Students from NSU sing songs and do comedy acts. The other music show is River City Players. RCP is a more professional than DTC. They do songs by Elvis and Beatles and 50s and 60s, oldies like that. It is for people who are interested in being on Broadway or something. I have never been to either of the shows. This is my first year.
Third, I would like to explain why DTC is not that professional. It is not very organized. Here is an example. So, when I first got accepted for the job, I was told by the guy in charge of lights for both shows, I would be starting on June 10. Then, I got a text message on Sunday or Monday that we were supposed to start on Tuesday, but since the girl working the lightboard would not be able to go in until Wednesday (yesterday), so we could go in that day, or if we couldnt make it that day, let him know when we could. I said I could go in Wednesday. So, Tuesday I texted the girl doing lightboard what time I would have to go in. She called back and said that when she got the schedule from the lady who runs DTC, tech was going to start today, but she may call us on Wednesday to come in. I kept checking the whole day yesterday to see if I would have to work. I didn't. *sigh*
More on the craziness of not being organized. They never start on time. Which, starting a couple minutes late is not that bad. It's when we start half and hour to an hour late that I get annoyed.
Fourth, my feet were hurting.
Rehearsal wasn't that bad. I didn't have to listen to the same song over and over and over. I just got tired easily.
*sigh*

Sounds like you enjoy work about as much as I do. lol
Except you don't have to drive an hour there and an hour back every day.
I think you'll be fine. Wear some comfy shoes and just breathe. You're not working a full 8 hour day so you'll be fine.
