What's in a name?

According to urbandictionary.com, this is one meaning for my name:

An amazing girl who can be seen as perfect in all ways, even though she'll never admit it. She is very beautiful, but remains in denial about her looks, even though she looks amazing even at the worst of times. She has an amazing personality(which matches her body in Beauty) and is instantly appealing, giving great frist impression to others. She has lots of friends, and inspires them all with edgy and loveable spark which keeps them close for a lifetime. Not to mention it's ALWAYS interesting to talk to her with just about anything and everything! A talk with Amy can brighten anyones mood, and leave them feeling very happy (except only when they have to stop and go to bed). She has a great love of food (especially bagels) and sense of humour and often makes up her own crazy words, which only makes you love her more! A day with Amy is never wasted, and when you experience this you realise that nothing else can ever be as fulfilling. From the point you meet and fall in love with her you realise you want to be with her for the rest of your life, and not a single experience is ever regretted.

And here are some sentences/conversations using my name:
"Wow, i can't believe i'm with Amy. I must be the luckiest guy in the world"

Guy1: Damn that girl's just so amazing!
Guy2: And perfect!
Guy3: She must be an Amy.

Writers Block and Kansas

So, I've spent a good amount of time today working on an english essay that is due tomorrow. I took notes on ideas that I wanted to talk about, and wrote some quotes and page numbers supporting my ideas. I typed those up. Then I started the essay. I have a header, my name, professor's name, class name, date, and the title. Now I am stuck. I don't know how to start it. So, I'm going to take a small break right now, and see if I can't think of something to write.

Oh, and I found that listening to oldies music like Kansas and Journey and stuff like that, helps me to concentrate. Let's see if it will work as my muse.

A book nerd who is tired of reading?

So, I am taking two summer classes. One of them is a literature class. Horror literature. I'm kinda getting bored with the class now. I mean, the first day of class wasn't all that exciting either, but I'm just really ready for the class to be over. Which it will be a week from Thursday. I was doing okay on my readings. But right now, I'm behind. I should have already finished Dracula, but I'm only on chapter 15. I read so much yesterday and last night trying to finish it, but then I decided that it would be best for me to go ahead and start the next book, The Shining. We were supposed to have read all the way to chapter 29. I'm only on chapter 16. I tried to get caught up this morning (in time for my class at 130) but I didn't make it. I hate to say it, but I'm at the point where I am tired of reading. Wwwwhhhhaaaattttt!!!!!!!!! I know, it's weird. But that is where I am right now. Once the class is over, I am going to take a small break from reading. Then, all will be well. Until the middle of the fall semester when I'm struggling to read the books for my young adult lit class, as well as keep up in all my other classes.

Towards the end of summer

Summer is almost over. I will be glad when it does end. I will be done with both of my summer classes, done with DTC, and will be awaiting for the start of the fall semester. I'm ready to get back to being busy. Busy with 18 hours (possibly dropping to 15), all my theatre stuff, SDS, and hopefully a job. Also, my roommate will be back, and more of my other friends will be back too. The fall/spring meal plans are better, and Flo's will be open too (finally! *fingers crossed*). There will be more stuff to do. Fall, please come soon!

Words from Dumbledore

I say to you all, once again--in the light of Lord Voldemort's return, we are only as strong as we are divided. Lord Voldemort's gift for spreading discord and enmity is very great. We can fight it only by showing an equally strong bond of friendship and trust. Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our our aims are identical and our hearts are open.

Gryffindor Rally Cry by Ministry of Magic

Verse 1
Today's the big game
The one we've been waiting for
We're ready
We'll represent the house flag of Gryffindor
We've gotta win
The Ravenclaws have got nothing on us
We'll defeat them and not even break a sweat

Prechorus
Now hear me
Today we meet our destiny
All together
Lets do this for Harry

Chorus
So who are we fighting for?
Gryffindor, givin it all for the red and gold!
And who are we flying for?
Gryffindor, this is battle this is war!
So who are we fighting for?
Gryffindor, we're a force you can't ignore!
And who are we flying for?
Gryffindor, this is battle this is war!

Verse 2
On to the pitch now
Onward and upward
We're weightless
The sky is our home
And they are invaders
Today is ours
Ginny will seek and Ron is the keeper
They're no match for scarlet fury

Prechorus
Now hear me
Today we meet our destiny
All together
Lets do this for Harry

Chorus
So who are we fighting for?
Gryffindor, givin it all for the red and gold!
And who are we flying for?
Gryffindor, this is battle this is war!
So who are we fighting for?
Gryffindor, we're a force you can't ignore!
And who are we flying for?
Gryffindor, this is battle this is war!
